My grandson just pulled a bike out of my dad's old garage. It's an Elgin and from what I can tell from internet pictures it may be a 1940 or 1941. It has one light on front and a chain guard and the "thing" on the back over the tire fender to set stuff on. I know you like bikes, so I wondered if you would be interested in finding out how much it may be worth. I'm sure it's all original, it's rusty, but with a little WD, my grandson actually rode it all day yesterday! Nothing is rusted through, no holes or anything and it's the original seat.

My cousin always rode a bicycle to work. He was hit by a woman driving in a Mercedes. He didnt get her license number. Another friend was hit on his bicycle by a Mercedes. The woman driver brought him back home and gave him 150 dollars for his wrecked bike. She left before his dad got home. Thats the way to do it settle the case on the spot for pennies on the dollar.

When Ii was 7 years old I was hit by a car, in hospital with legs hung in air six months and then six more more in body case. The doctors said I wasn't probably going to walk well or have kids, well God healed me all the way. Back in the 60's people didn't sue People much and the driver of the car bought me this bike or one real close to it. Mine was green.
I am suffering now from when I was hit but I lived for over 40 years in great shape.

I agree with the schwinn guy it is a walmart bike i got my kids 2 of them a few years ago for xmas. I also had a 1970 apple krate when I was a kid

This item was NOT a wal-mart item. I've had several appraisals from other people on it and it's worth AT LEAST $200.

sorry to tell you but this is a repop sold by walmart made by pacific cycle company it was made in 2008 or 2009 it was a black friday sale item in 2008 sold for 88.00 they didnt sell well and walmart dumped them in 2009 final price was 49.00 the real schwinn krates were made from 1968 to 1973 in 5 speed and coaster models (single speed
