This weathervaine came from a barn that was getting ready to be torn down .The owner was having a garage sale and he said that he would sell it to me for $25.00 if I could get it down. I looked it up on the computer and they sell reproductions. but the reproductions don't look thesame.

You should have climbed up onto the roof for $25. That weather vane is a circa 1910s example looking back to early 19th Century style weathervanes. Another one like it sold for $400. I appraised the real deal weathervane (nothing like this one in Louisville KY for $15,000.

OMG! Absolutely get that for $25.00. Are you kidding? Some of these are quite valuable. I will tell you what - I will pay you to get it down for $50. $25 to pay the owner, $25 for the work to get it down. Heck - make that $125.00. Whatcha think? I think it would look great on my pole barn roof!
