Help! Hideous Cabinets!, Just bought the house (built in 1969). Nothing updated! Kitchen is large and L shaped w/ an eat-in area. Husband is deployed so in the short-term (before I replace cabinets tear down wall to make open concept etc) Would like to make it look better before the big remodel. How about black and white toile roman shade soft yellow walls and painting the cabinets either white or cream. What to do w/ spindles on the cabinet faces (they don't come off!).
