NEW HOME, We are building our first home and I need some ideas for decorating the foyer family room and kitchen. I do not have a picture of the home yet because it is still being framed. I am trying to convert from the primitive/americana decor to something more traditional and am very frustrated. We have pruchased all stainless steel appliances. I am confused about paint color etc....Any ideas would be appreciated., Kitchens
Family and friends room, This space has a nice high peaked ceiling hardwood floors under the classic rug a mantel over the wood burning fireplace I did myself with stock millwork. All the upholstrey is vintage and re upholstered in durable but attractive fabric I like a full look and did this with the help of parents and grandparents no longer with us. I love the fact I can look at these things and remember them as they were. New is nice but loved and restored is better....., Living Rooms

Somethings Missing???, As you enter the house this is the first room you see and I feel that it's missing pizzazz.... The room is very long and kind of narrow. Another thing to keep in mind is that our house is an old ranch style home; so I am trying to combine the new with the old!!! , Living Rooms
I miss this room, I just relocated and am in the process of renovating a 1930's ranch. I look forward to being able to post pics when I'm finished but until then... I can only reminisce about my old construction-free digs and those high ceilings. My new house is smaller so I welcome suggestions as to what should stay or should go. , Living Rooms
