I have many of these for gifts. I have found that 50 lights is too much wire. I always use the 20 light set. Just my preference. Try it. You can always after Christmas purchase them on clearance for .50ea.

This is a great decorative idea, but you can save yourself a step if you live near a Michael's Crafts store (It might be called Hobby Lobby in some places. They now sell these blocks with a hold in it and a plug. At michaels, it shows that you can put a light bulb or string of lights in it. You could also glue sea glass or glass tiles to it ont he inside or outside.

This is really nice and marketable...but I might use pink lights in the baby shower box or blue lights depending on the sex of the baby...also, there are so many possibilities...purple lights for a Birthday...Orange for Halloween...great gift idea! Thanks.

Beautiful decoration! I'd love to try making one! While looking for the glass drill bit, the young man at Lowe's said that a "diamond bit" was the best to use. Which drill bit did you use and have you used different glass drill bits? We're having a new grandson the latter part of March & this lighted block would be great! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
