Make own headboard from found, old shutters. I have very 'peeling' -away-painted shutters and went on and polyurethaned them as so as not to remove any debris when leaning against them in bed. I suspect the 'debris' is quite new, as is most things in the shop that I frequent, versus anything 'old' or lead based. And then secured to wall permanently, at level of bottom of shutter meets top of mattress.
