These are a pair of 14 inch tall Dream Dolls - one of a kind cloth figurative sculptures built over a supportive wire armature. The fabrics are a combination of gorgeous new quilting cottons and vintage fabrics, including repurposed kimono silk.
The dolls' hand painted faces are in the style of Kabuki makeup or Noh masks. One is dressed in a Kimono with Obi and hair ornaments, while the other wears Shinto inspired wrap pants and headdress. Both are heavily beaded and have spirals in their hands and feet signifying the continuity of life.
These will be available at Uptown Village Market in Long Beach, CA at the Iggy Jingles Crafts booth, #45. www.UptownVillageMarket.com
