Partly because I was on a budget and party because the selection of large tree-toppers was totally picked-over, I decided to make my own tree-topper using materials from Michael's. I used branches from the floral section, glass ornaments, and small bead ornaments wired to the base of the topper. More on my blog: younghipandhandy.blogspot.com

My ornaments are on 2 7/8 inch satin balls. I use lots of pins, pearls, crystals seed beads, glass beads, metallic sequins, antique lace and satin ribbons, silver and gold bugle, and I even add pieces of my antique jewelry. It takes me up to two weeks to complete one ornament.
