129 Results for "yellow"

Recycled Headboard, I need a headboard for my beach theme guest room.
I got the idea that instead of getting rid of a book case that my grandpa had made many years ago... falling apart, that I would use the wood to make the headboard.
used 3 shelf and 2 stips of wood for brace and legs, Painted yellow and them brushed and wiped the blue over the yelllow. I think my grandpa would be happy! What do you think?, Home Decor Project
Origami Bonsai Flowering Fern of Folklore, From Wikipedia:
"Ferns figure in folklore, for example in legends about mythical flowers or seeds. In Slavic folklore, ferns are believed to bloom once a year, during the Ivan Kupala night. Although alleged to be exceedingly difficult to find, anyone who sees a "fern flower" is thought to be guaranteed to be happy and rich for the rest of their life. Similarly, Finnish tradition holds that one who finds the "seed" of a fern in bloom on Midsummer night will, by possession of it, be guided and be able to travel invisibly to the locations where eternally blazing Will o' the wisps called aarnivalkea mark the spot of hidden treasure."

Here is my interpretation of a flowering fern plant. A highly complex branch structure supports clusters of lush fern-like leaflets. The leaflets were made in five sizes; the leaflet at the tip of the branch is much smaller than the leaflets closer to the trunk of the plant. The flowers were hand painted and then folded using the origami technique. Each flower is an assembly of a tiny blue flower, a large yellow flower, and five tiny Makigami strips that look like stamen (the thingies in the middle of the flower). A blue highlight on the larger yellow flower makes it look like the blue flowers glow.

This sculpture is made entirely from paper. Leaflets and flowers were hand painted and then folded, the stems, planter, pebbles, and planter stand are made from recycled newspaper using my Makigami technique.

Stained Glass Window, My technique is not the usual stained glass because I do not use lead between the pieces of glass. I find old interesting windows and buy "leftovers" from a local stained glass company. I create my own patterns or use paintings for inspiration. I glue the glass pieces on with a hard-drying, clear glue and it works great., Home Decor Project
