I know I have posted her before but I never finished quilting her. So I sent her to a VERY special lady and a great quilter as a challenge. I have come to the conclusion that I now need to send her ALL of my quilts for the quilting. She has managed to capture the whimsey and the fun of the whole idea of my fairee's. I just had to repost so that you can enjoy her work. It is all hand quilted with metalic thread and a wonderful wonderful job!!

Lady Katherine, I wanted to make a Fairee for my Granddaughter. I first painted her onto fabric and appliqued her onto the background fabric. I fussy cut the flowers and the bushes then I painted them with opaque white and painted the centers a pale yellow. I then used opaque glitter glue on the white and gold glitter glue in the center. I wanted the effect of moon light shining on the plants. Then I glued rhinestones in the centers. It is on stiff interfacing because I plan on putting it in a frame. Enjoy!! , Friendship Project

A DAY IN THE PARK, I have had this in my mind for at least 8 months now and this is the finished piece. It has taken me at least three months to complete it with all that is happening at my house. I love the artist Britto and his style so decided to do a art piece of my.very own. I wanted to show the joy of a boy and his dog in the park for the day.I drew out the template and cut out all of the pieces and used black cording for the seams. Finished size is 42 x 43. Joyce, A painted post card. I am going to go and visit a old childhood friend and wanted to bring her something special. When she was younger she had long blond hair and green eyes so this is the the lady I adapted from my template of Princes Iris. Painted onto fabric and then cut out and fused to the blue background fabric. A simple zig zag stitch for the border. Hope she likes it!, Friendship Project

Come up and see me sometime!!, I found a old poster that I really liked and wanted to see what I could do with it. She is a bit bigger that I normally do and I found some ostrich feathers that was perfect for her hat and boa. I used gold glitter glue and rhinestones to make her bracelet and ring the glitter in her hat is a old earring that I found somewhere! I quilted her with black metalic thread in a diamond shape and used the opaque metalic in the white just on the insides., Friendship Project

South Beach shopping, Tried something a bit different. My son did a sketch of buildings for his art class and I liked the look of it so decided to try a quilt using it. This is the result. Princess Alexia, I wanted to do a fairie that would look as if she was in a photo frame. She is hand painted and fused appliqued onto the background fabric. I had to use two types of fabric overlayed to get the rich look I wanted for the background. I put small rhinestones in the flowers and used a sparkle paint on her dress and wings. The Watcher, A art wall quilt that is hand appliqued with a hand painted face. I have thread painted her hair and metalic thread to give the water a shimer. Vintage Doily Quilt, Gather up your old doilies and put them into a quilt! These doilies came from my Mom, Mother in Law's, Grandmother, and friends. I tried to use the colorful ones in the center and the white ones to surround them. Each block is 2 half square triangles, which forms the center square to lay your large doily into. Stich your doilies down by hand then quilt. This is a queen size quilt., Friendship Project
