A modified Turning Twenty. It's more of a "Turning 12" since it only has 12 colors and thus 12 squares. Fun and easy to make!

The center medallion is pieced with cotton evenweave plaids in a rail fence pattern quilted in the ditch. All borders are cotton and quilted in a meandering pattern. The double binding is hand sewn and mitered. The back is a black and pumpkin check made from Quilter's Flannel very heavy and thick. This is a warm lap quilt made to last.

This little optical illusion wall quilt was designed for my son's first "I'm on my own and too cool for a patchwork quilt" apartment. Everything in his new apartment had to be "cutting edge" and black and white. He always has loved optical illusions so I designed this quilt. By the time I finished quilting and paper piecing this quilt I could barely un-cross my eyes!
