This rocking chair was rescued from the trash heap by a friend of mine. She called me and told me she had a great project piece for me. Honestly I was a bit overwhelmed when I saw ho large the rocking chair was and has sad it looked. I brought it home, ripped it apart, painted and gave it some new fabric I pulled from the remnant bin of my favorite fabric store. I love how it turned out.

A Mary Engelbreit gift bag was the inspiration for the room design. The saying "Bloom where you are planted" really spoke to me, for my children who were being relocated and up-rooted, so to speak.

I Found a an old wood pallet in my yard that the former owners used as a platform for a porch swing. It was made of painted redwood. I couldn't resist incorporating it into our renovations so we turned it into tables, an entry table and a console table for the living room. It was quick, easy and saved a lot on our furnishings budget.
