Laurel Lea kitchen, I bought this beautiful Charleston style cottage recently for the great view of a lake and love it, but the sellers' dog chewed the blinds, carpet, window sills, etc. and the owner had no money to do the repairs. My cabinets are not real wood, my countertops are outdated, the dishwasher was ruined, the stainless sink is discolored, the cooktop and other appliances were abused. I have had to repair the AC, disposal, etc. and I am running out of money. I watch HGTV all the time and think my kitchen would be an interestinig fix-up project. The master bath and other baths also need updating, but I painted and made the best of them. , Cabinets
Oak Overload!, Help! These oak cabinets are not my style. They are in great shape and would like to paint them. My counters are staying and are blue. The walls are Benjamin Moore Aura Amulet (yellow colour). The floor tiles are neutral light colour. Should I go all white? white on top and dark colour on bottom?, Cabinets
Makeover needed, I am having my pantry changed and my bottom cabinets changed from doors to large drawers. My problem is that ALL of my house has stained wood trim that I like. I want to keep this but am strongly considering painting my cabinets and it will be very difficult to match their stain color for new doors and drawers. My cabinets are 26 yrs. old. I would like to know what color could I use that would go with the stained trim? I do not like white cabinets and worry that black would make the room too dark. I was thinking some sort of highlighted painted or antiqued glazed finish, but I really am out of my element with this. Help!, Cabinets
